Last year, out of 180 countries, Nigeria ranked 144th on the Corruption Perception Index implying that from a global purview, Nigeria is considered a very corrupt country. Further in the year 2018,  another report surfaced which decked a hideous blow on Nigeria's image. It was the declaration that Nigeria had surpassed India to become the poverty capital of the world. According to the report, Nigeria has approximately 87 Million extremely poor people. That is to say, 87 Million Nigerians have no access to basic human needs, like food, safe drinking water, sanitation facilities, health,  shelter, education and information. In this regard, it has been stated by renowned Economists like Muhammadu Sanusi II (Emir of Kano) that if things remain the way they are, Nigeria may remain the poverty capital of the world till the year 2050. At various stages of our lives, we have been learners. We learn new skills. We learn about people and cultures. We go to schools to obtain various degrees. We learn about ourselves. We learn life. We are practically on a never ending journey of learning and discoveries. And until we die, we will be learners. Learning however is not as smooth as it always appears. If you have ever had to learn anything from the scratch, or ever had cause to apprentice under a master; you will agree that to gain mastery of any skill, trade or art takes a great deal of efforts, determination, humility and endurance. In psychology, there are four stages of attaining competence, namely: unconscious incompetence, conscious incompetence, conscious competence  and unconscious competence. I describe the first two stages as 'The Learning Stage'. You are most unskillful at this stage. You are also least celebrated at this stage.
